George is a registered patent and trade marks attorney and graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Science degree (with Honours) in Genetics, and entered the profession in 1984.
George is keenly interested in new technology and developments in applied sciences. His scope of work includes advice on the patentability of new products and processes, advising on IP strategy, drafting and prosecuting of patent applications, providing advice on infringement and validity of patents, and patent oppositions. He also provides similar services in relation to trade marks and designs. George’s clients range from individuals and small companies up to major national and international corporations.
George has been a part-time Lecturer in the Master of Intellectual Property (MIP) post-graduate course at the University of Technology, Sydney since 2001, and continues to teach “Drafting of Patent Specifications”, one of the final level subjects to achieve registration as a patent attorney.
After 31 years at another leading IP firm, George co-founded Acrogon IP with Frank Pappas in order to provide a more personalised and client focused service tailoring to the specific needs of his clients. Working alongside a talented network of local and overseas professional associates, he provides a comprehensive and integrated service to both Australian and international clients, managing their patent, design and trade mark portfolios.
